Why the Urban Christian Conferrence
|
The ministry of the Urban Christian Conference
The
formation of the Urban Christian Conferrence was to recognize the
unique situations which people encounter within urban areas. The
work of the devil in such areas (his real and an evil force we still
must contend with) is found with such subtlety that a "one size fits
all" approach was not mandated by God. Both the Rural Christian
Conferrence and the Urban Christian Conferrence are mandated by God to
bring Christians to PRAYER. However, each has a focus that is
unique to its own livng environment.
The life of a person in
close proximity to other people and more congregate settings has
different implications than does spiritual warefare in a more rural
setting. The emphesis of the Urban Christian Conferrence is on
the "outpouring" of the Holy Spirit amongst the congregations that name
the name of Jesus within a city area. Such an "outpouring" does
NOT mean an endourcement of "Glossalalia" but rather the work of the Holy Spirit throughout that city or metropolitan area.
In
all cases the true humilty of the individuals involved is what is
stressed. It is the total surrender to God and His will that must
be the driving force amongst the "assemblies" of people coming together
to pray for the Holy Spirit to enfuse their communities.
Repentance, restoration, and revival are components it is true,
but within the urban area Charlie Knight (brother charles) sensed God
was calling people to humble submission to God's will as the Holy
Spirit would direct as they gathered together to pray.
He
(brother charles) has felt so inadequate for this task and so unworthy
that he readily "put it off" for almost 3 decades. However
brother charles can find NO peace in life except for when he pursues
the establishment of these ministries. He seeks your input and
guidance as God has communicated it to your after much prayer. In
addition to the focus on prayer and the supplication for God's Holy
Spirit to permiate every aspect of city life, the ministry is to
encourage its members to evaluate any "call" they feel they have from
God. Then, in 2009, action should be taken to respond to this
call as the hours to work in the vineyard are few and night is soon
approaching.

show more information and the locations of RCC and UCC assemblies as
they are established.

The Statement of Beliefs
|
The commission to
form the Rural Christian Conferrence (and later the Urban Christian
Conferrence and the Combined Christian Conferrence) was given by God
during the
Pastor's Conference at Berkshire Christian College, March of 1981, and
this statement of beliefs and proclamation of faith given during
private prayer before an evening prayer meeting at Hephzibah Heights
Bible Conference Center, July of 1981. There have been clarifications
by God in the first 99days and where those changes are can be obtained
by request. --- recorded by C.E.Knight (1982) and , transcribed by
Alice Davis, 03-21-2003 (reviewed 06/06/2008)
Charlie Knight is seeking prayer and advice from Holy men and women of
God about this “ministry” as he has delayed doing this for over 27
years trying to follow the advice of people who said he should not be
so engaged. But his life has crumbled, and those near and
dear to him have died, and the family home and belongings as well as
his health have deteriorated.
He now feels that
his only path is to move out in faith to do this which so many have
said he should not do, but he has NO peace or joy in his life unless he
is so engaged. Please pray for charlie knight and tell him, through us,
if God has given you a word of information about the direction in which
he should labor in this vineyard.
* The two components of the Combined Christian
Conferrence are the Rural Christian Conferrence and
the Urban
Christian Conferrence.
The Rural Christian Conferrence
was to be established, as Charlie Knight understood it, to coordinate
and found prayer groups that would pray for revival of God's people in
the rural communities with all the emphasis and particular trials that
such a community shares with other rural groups.
The Urban Christian Conferrence
was to be establlished, again as Charlie Knight understood it, to pray
for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon congregations within the
urban setting and the energizing of these people of God with the
particular temptations and trials that accompany
living/existing/triumphing in a more-or-less cosmopolitan setting.
We hope you will write us or email
us with your personal prayer requests
and how God is leading you to form a RCC / UCC prayer group where you
abide.
